The principal goal of CBSM is to promote Western Australian life science by providing a platform for the interaction of scientists from all facets of science. In this spirit, the CBSM Cross Disciplinary Award seeks to reward "outside the box" thinking by providing $1,000 to seed the initial stages of a collaborative endeavour.
Postgraduate and early career researchers (< 3 years post-doctoral experience) are invited to submit an abstract detailing;
1) The concept for a cross-disciplinary project.
2) An action plan for developing the collaboration and/or providing "proof of principle" evidence supporting the concept.
In describing the "concept" applicants should provide some background to the question being asked and clearly describe their relevant expertise and/or proposed role in the project. The action plan should be realistic in both the scope and cost of the outcomes it aims to achieve.
Applicants should use the abstract template and submission process as detailed at "Submit an Abstract". When submitting your abstract please ensure that you select "Cross Disciplinary" as both your main and secondary topics.
The CBSM review panel's decision is final and we reserve the right not to make an award.
The award winner will be required to provide the CBSM committee with a short report detailing their progress and how they spent the award before the following CBSM.
